Wiktor Polak

Chmurki

„Nowe technologie i formy manifestacji
ludzkiego ja.

Człowiecza maszyna porusza się
w niewiadomym kierunku.

Estetyka otaczających nas przedmiotów
zdaje się sugerować ich wzajemne przenikanie.

Nagrobna płyta przypominająca komiksową chmurkę lub okienko czekolady Alpen Gold.”

Wszystko stanie się jasne już niebawem.
Wernisaż zaczynamy o 20.

Many times when we talked about art, Victor drew attention to the importance of the relationship between the artist's life and work. Does what the artist reveals to us come directly from his experience? Did the author sacrifice what is the most difficult to devote for the knowledge he shares with us? The exhibition is a one-time event, but it should create a certain continuity, harmonize with the earlier achievements by the artist, which, in turn, should testify to his constant effort to explore the paths distant from the main route.

I think that this metaphor is so capacious that we can stay with it for a while. It reflects the dangers of being an artist. How many times does it happen that artists go so far away from the main trail that they do not come back? Often we can only hear their voices, which we cannot understand from afar. Those who sit down comfortably in a pub and know about travels only from others, and by listening carelessly, are not worth mentioning. Polak has this incredible ability, that despite delving into the remotest and most inaccessible areas, he always comes back to tell us about them. That is why I look forward to his return with the greatest eagerness.

It so happens that I am expecting him this Saturday. I also have a handful of information about our future event, I got it running next to Wiktor for a while (as far as I could), I wrote it down trusting my memory and submit here to testify to my curatorial effort.

"New technologies and forms
of human self manifestation.

The human machine is moving
in an unknown direction.

The aesthetics of the objects around
us seem to suggest their interpenetration.

A tombstone plate resembling a cartoon
cloud or an Alpen Gold chocolate window."

Everything will be clear soon.
Opening will start at 8 pm.
